The Moving Wall
The Moving Wall honors the more than three million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces in the Vietnam War and it bears the names of the more than 58,000 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam. Visitors experience The Wall rising above them as they walk towards the apex, a key feature of the design of The Wall in D.C. Like the original memorial, The Moving Wall, is erected in a chevron-shape and visitors can do name rubbings of individual service member’s names. Lighting provides readability of The Wall both day and night.
The GoldStars Tribute Wall™
The GoldStars Tribute Wall™ exists to honor the over 7,000 fallen while serving in the United States military from the beginning of the Gulf War through the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Over two decades after the US-led invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan, veterans have a long way to go in securing their place in the nation’s collective memory through a monument on Washington’s iconic National Mall. The GoldStars Tribute Wall™ allows us to keep the spirit of our fallen heroes alive.
The Walls of Honor Exhibition
The exhibition will be open to the public 24/7 during its stay at Pine Lawn Cemetery, and admission is free. Special ceremonies and events, including an opening ceremony, guest speakers, and a “Veterans Village,” with veteran support services, will be held throughout the display period. Volunteers and community members are encouraged to participate in this solemn and meaningful experience.
